C.P.N. (Crappy Posts Nomore)

Well I thought about it and I decided that you won't find crappy posts like my last one (or this one, for that matters) on this blog for the time being.
I know you love to hear about cool videos and pointless discussions about business and iPhones, but there's a lot of people that is much better than me at that.

My decision is to post on this log only when I have something that really adds up a lot to the conversation, and posting to twitter, facebook, delicious or whatever (great name for a social network, btw) for stupid comments/links/videos etc.

If you REALLY can't live without it, you can always subscribe to my link blog and have quick access to a lot of this crap, with the bonus of not having my useless comments attached.
If you're still craving for MY personal pointless ranting, you can find plenty of it in my twitter feed.
Ciao :)

Daft Punk Widget

I love Daft Punk.
Hope I'm making you happy with this widget (Mashable explains it better).

Quick Update

Hi there! No posts in a couple of weeks, I know, I know.
But rest assured: I had absolutely NO good reason for that!
It's just that I'm plain lazy.
Well in the meantime I (almost) finalised the set up of my new MacBook Pro, went to Dublin for a couple of days meeting in the Guinness Store House (Guinness tastes totally different in Irland!!!) and twittered a lot (I was even bashed by the almighty Robert Scoble!).
BTW everybody in Twitter is moving from Twitterrific to Snitter (Snitter is an app built on the Adobe AIR framework). It's much less elegant but it happens to work which is not bad.
I know this post is pointless. But you cannot blame me for not posting AND for bad posting at the same time. So chose your side! :)

Now THIS is customer care. Kudos to Zappos (and txs Seth Godin!)

Found on YouTube: 2007 Hatch Awards Opening Video

I've already twitted of this before (what are you guys waiting to get your Twitter account?!?), but reading the details I found out that this was a REAL focus group!
Although some things seem a little bit too "fake" (like the agency conclusions), I've seen this happening too many times not to enjoy it:

Txs Stefano for sharing.

Links for 10.07.2007

I'm going to ride some waves today so no big posts, some links instead:

From the Information Age to the Connected Age

Nice post from Anne Zelenka about how the focus is moving from knowledge working to web working. I don't agree to Anne's prediction on big corporation being outdated (I'm oversimplifying, go read the post) because "the web makes transaction costs across individuals and ad hoc groups of people so small as to be unimportant to many web-era businesses". While the web definitely does that especially for very niche markets, it's far for removing the biggest barrier on individual-to-individual transactions, namely trust (as a proof, just look at eBay. eBay is basically there to build trust for people to close a transaction with other people. In Anne's model eBay is a total nonsense).
I think this is good food for thought though.

Free Burma Day

You see this post because I'm participating to the International Bloggers' Day for Burma. Check the link to have a glimpse to what's going on there and what you can do about it.

Free Burma!

Eva Longoria Sex Tape

Now this is cool.
Title says it all :)

Hmmm, for some reason I think this stuff would fit more Facebook, Twitter or the likes to be shared. Then why am I doing it here? Because I know that most people I know don't have an account for any social network. I badly need a social aggregator...

Dove Onslaught

Dove (a Unilever brand) just launched the follow up of what's maybe most successful digital campaign for CPG company, Evolution.
There's a lot more rock and roll here (to me Evolution was more of a blues)...
So here's the video:

Red post

Here's my red post for Burma and International Day on Non-Violence.

I know, I know. It's stupid, useless, you name it. But also not doing it was useless so I couldn't find any good reason to keep on sleeping.

Zeitgeist

I watched Zeitgeist this summer following a link from Scott Adam's blog.
To use Adam's words the plot is basically as follows:

1. The Bible is an obvious copy of earlier religions, designed to control the masses.

2. September 11th was staged by the U.S. government as a pretext for grabbing power and making money.

3. Rich bankers control the entire world.

Now I'm not saying that all the stuff in there is fact, but you can't argue that it's a deliciously thought conspiracy theory.
So here's the deal: save those money you wanted to spend for Blockbuster and take a couple of hours to watch it, in the worst case scenario your brain will feel a little less useless :)
I strongly suggest to download the higher quality version here (you'll need a Bittorrent client) but if you're a hard core web 2.0 guy here's the Google Video version:

Oh, and as I'm in the mood of showing Adam some love, here's another of my all time favorites, about "China passing a law banning Tibetan monks from reincarnating without permission"

There's a word...

I don't know if Hugh actually allows people to post his cartoons on their own blog, though I think I once read that he does. Anyway, I got one of those moments in your life when you stumble on something and you're sure that it was made not just for you but also for that specific second, that specific place etc
Of course it's not but that's not the point. The point is that I wanted to keep it (you can always check for new gapingvoid cartoons on the sidebar or head to gapingvoid).

So, long story short, here it is:

Hugh, dude if you want me to remove no problem, just send me a take down notice :)
