Moving to my new house
I'm moving to my new house where, thanks to the always efficient italian ISPs, I still have no internet access. Hope I can fix that soon and post some pics of my (still work in progress) house!!!
Of course there's always a lot of stuff going on on the interwebs that you can reach on my link blog, or connect to me on Twitter!
Love ya :)

What’s the least number of “sticks” you need to move to make this Roman numeral equation correct? XI + I = X
If you answered anything but zero, you satisficed. Look at it upside down.Matt May (via How To Change The World)

Harael Quote
We are not realists. We are not idealists. We are intermediatists — that nothing is real, but that nothing is unreal: that all phenomena are approximations one way or the other between realness and unrealness.

Elton John might be an idiot
"I do think it would be an incredible experiment to shut down the whole internet for five years and see what sort of art is produced over that span"But why is that? What really strikes me is not what he said that, but that he apparently isn't saying it because he doesn't like to have his songs pirated, as any other dumb artist should, but because the internet had compelled people to "sit at home and make their own records, which is sometimes OK but it doesn't bode well for long-term artistic vision".
I guess Elton would prefer decide who's hot and who's not instead of having people making their own choices. Soooo sad...

Top 10 things your IT department won't tell you
My personal favorite:
3. HOW TO VISIT THE WEB SITES YOUR COMPANY BLOCKS
[...]
The Trick: Even if your company won't let you visit those sites by typing their Web addresses into your browser, you can still sometimes sneak your way onto them. You travel to a third-party site, called a proxy, and type the Web address you want into a search box. Then the proxy site travels to the site you want and displays it for you -- so you can see the site without actually visiting it. Proxy.org, for one, features a list of more than 4,000 proxies.
Another way to accomplish the same thing, from Mr. Frauenfelder and Ms. Trapani: Use Google's translation service, asking it to do an English-to-English translation. Just enter this -- Google.com/translate?langpair=en|en&u=www.blockedsite.com -- replacing "blockedsite.com" with the Web address of the site you want to visit. Google effectively acts as a proxy, calling up the site for you.
